Event Recording Request Form

To record an event (audio or video) you must submit two electronic forms:
  1. Each participant being recorded must fill out the Consent & Release form at least 48 hours in advance of the event. The form is available here: go.middlebury.edu/consent
  2. The organizer must request recording support by using the form belowRequests for recording require five (5) business days notice, requests will honored on a first-in/first-out basis.

Approved Spaces for Recordings

The approved spaces for recordings by Media Services staff are:

Dana, Twilight Aud, MCC Social Space, Hillcrest 103, RAJ, MBH 216, MBH 220.

With the exception of MBH220, these spaces support recording with our Lecture Capture system, which records the video from the presenter's computer, in addition to recording the presenter. 

  • Media Services staff need a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the event to setup
  • Recordings by Media Services staff are restricted to structured lectures only
  • Recording must be for Middlebury College events only
  • Uploading a recording on the web: If the option is selected below, Media Services will upload the recording on the web and e-mail you a link within three (3) business days of the recording.
  • This service is limited to availability of equipment and technical personnel.

Please enter the title of the lecture or event you would like recorded.

Please enter the date of the event. If the event is happening less than five business days from now, we cannot accept your request.

Please enter the starting time of the event. Please note that Media Services requires 30 minutes to set up the equipment for recording an event. You must contact Event Scheduling to make sure that the location for your event is available 30 minutes before the start of your event.

Please enter the time when the event is estimated to end. Please note that Media Services requires 10 minutes to pack up the equipment after recording an event. You must contact Event Scheduling to make sure that the location for your event is available 10 minutes after the start of your event.

Has the recording Permission Form been completed (http://go.middlebury.edu/recording)? This must be done 48 hours before the start of the event or Media Services will not record the event.

Please select the type of recording. Permission is required from the speaker, regardless of the type of recording.

A video recording with lecture capture records the speaker, as well as anything shown on the main projection screen in the room. This type of recording is only supported in the spaces listed at the top of this page.

We need a minimum of *three (3) business days* from the day of the recording to process and upload the video.

If you would like the recording to be uploaded to the web, please select the appropriate checkbox. A space will be available to enter the date by which the recording should be ready for viewing on the web.

If you elect not to have the recording uploaded on the web, we will call you to discuss any special handling.
