Student-run Service Organizations

Looking to get involved with an on-campus service group? Here are all the student organizations officially affiliated with the Student Cluster Board. 

Butch's Team (Butchie's Team)

Butch's team is a collection of students who are friends with Butch Varno. Butch has cerebral palsy and lives at the Helen Porter Nursing Home. With his huge heart and sense of humor, he picks us up more than we pick him up.

Charter House Coalition (Charter House)

Charter House Coalition is a volunteer-based, community supported service organization that provides shelter, transitional housing, free meals and a friendly face to families and individuals in the Middlebury area who need assistance.

Community Friends (CF)

Community Friends is a campus-based mentoring program that matches college student mentor volunteers with local youth.

DREAM (Directing through Recreation, Education, Adventure, and Mentoring)

DREAM is a mentoring organization that builds communities of families and college students in order to empower children from affordable housing neighborhoods so that they may recognize their options, make informed decisions, and achieve their dreams

Friends of John Graham Emergency Shelter (John Graham)

The John Graham Shelter was established in July of 1980 to address Addison County’s need for emergency short-term housing. The Shelter provides a safe, clean place for individuals and families to stay as well as case management and outreach services.

Habitat for Humanity: Middlebury Chapter (Habitat)

Build a Brighter Future - Join Habitat! As partners with the local Addison County Habitat chapter, we seek to address the need of simple, decent, affordable housing both here in Vermont and beyond.

Juntos Migrant Outreach Org.

Juntos is a student volunteer organization striving to meet the needs of the Latin American migrant worker population of Addison County VT. Juntos fosters relationships at both the individual & community levels through social and educational programs.

Midd Buddies

Midd Buddies seeks to foster a better relationship between the Middlebury student community and the special needs community of the city of Middlebury. We work with the local high school, the local middle school, and adult groups in town.

MiddCAM (Middlebury College Access Mentors)

MiddCAM (Middlebury College Access Mentors), is a new initiative that pairs college students with local high school juniors/seniors to help them navigate the college application process. 

Middlebury Alternative Breaks (MAlt)

MAlt coordinates student-run fall, February, and spring breaks focusing on service, education, and connecting communities.

Nutrition Outreach and Mentoring (NOM)

NOM is a continuing initiative at Middlebury College with the goal of creating community and connecting people through food and food education.

Page One Literacy Project (Page 1)

Page 1 Literacy Project aims to foster a love of learning in local elementary school students through weekly programming and community events.

Relay for Life (Relay)

Annual Relay for Life event in the spring fundraises money for the American Cancer Society. Get involved now to celebrate, remember, and fight back!

Sister-to-Sister Club (STS)

Sister to Sister Club (STS) mentors middle school girls from the Middlebury area. We invite girls to campus to participate in monthly activities and discuss common issues in the girls’ lives in a comfortable environment.

Volunteer Services Organization (VSO)

Volunteer Services Organization is a service group that helps students become active in various types of volunteer activities in the Middlebury Community.VSO plans weekly volunteer worksites and holds annual events.

Xiao Pengyou ("Little Friend")

The Middlebury College Xiao Pengyou Program aims to address questions of race and culture among local Asian adoptees by pairing them with Asian mentors from the college.
