Some of our vendors, such as Monument Farms Dairy, deliver their products to Middlebury fresh daily. Others, we source through local wholesale distributors such as Black River Produce and Burlington Food Service.

Monument Farms Dairy is a vertically integrated dairy that grows its own feed, raises its own Heifers and bottles, processes and distributes its own milk. Monument products are sold exclusively in Vermont. The recent edition of a methane digester allows the dairy to harness energy from cow manure as well as create its own natural bedding and fertilizer.

The Putnam family makes its aged alpine raw milk cheese handmade on the farm in North Pomfret, Vermont, from the certified organic milk of their grass-fed Jersey cows. Every aspect of creating the cheese, from caring for the hay fields and pastures, bringing in the hay and caring and milking the cows is done on the farm.

The Middlebury College Organic Farm was created by students in 2002 and is now a student organization that manages a 3-acre plot. The farm serves a practical as well as educational purpose for students and faculty. Fertilized by Middlebury College's compost, MCOF grows fruits, vegetables, herbs and recently added chickens! MCOF is currently growing a basil crop specifically for use by Dining services to make pesto!

Sunrise Orchards is a 200-acre apple orchard that grows several apple varieties, including McIntosh, Empire, Cortland, Honeycrisp, Paula Red, Macoun, Red Delicious and Granny Smith. About half of each season's crop is stored in a refrigerated and controlled atmosphere storage facility, allowing Sunrise to continue distributing their apples through the winter and spring.
