We support students to explore their established and emerging interests through hands-on community engagement. We help students build relationships and find ongoing commitments that align with their values. 

We also provide multiple entry points for sustainable collaborative relationships with community partners and faculty.

Student Involvement Fair

In the Fall, the CCE hosts 20+ community organizations to share engagement opportunities with students during the annual Student Involvement Fair. Students also have the opportunity to meet student leaders of Community Engagement Organizations (CEOs).

Orientation Programming

We collaborate with Middlebury Orientation to provide programming during First Year Orientation that introduce incoming students to community engagement opportunities. Examples include Community Connection panels and New Student Weekend service trips.

Community Advisory Board

The Community Advisory Board brings together faculty, partners, students, and staff to set directions and build networks, and share knowledge/skills for community engaged learning at Middlebury.

CCE Mini-Grants

The CCE’s Mini-Grant program is for student initiatives involving community action. Students may apply for funding to cover expenses such as conference fees, transportation, film screening rights, etc.
