The Posse Foundation

Middlebury has been a proud partner with the Posse Foundation for over 20 years. The Posse Foundation identifies, recruits and trains individuals with extraordinary leadership potential. Posse Scholars receive full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse’s partner colleges and universities.

Middlebury is the only small liberal arts college with three Posse cities (New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles) on campus, which makes for a very vibrant Posse community with 120 Posse Scholars at any given time here at Middlebury.

BOLD Women’s Leadership Network

Funded by The Helen Gurley Brown Foundation, the BOLD Women’s Leadership Network cultivates courageous leadership in young women during their college years and beyond. BOLD focuses on facilitating opportunities for women’s career development and networking through scholarship funding, programming, and post-graduation fellowships. In the spirit of Helen Gurley Brown, the program equips young women to be innovative agents of change in whatever respective field or industry they decide to pursue. By awarding scholarship and fellowship money, the Initiative will mitigate financial burdens while allowing young leaders to pursue their interests. Ultimately, the program will empower young college women to become leaders in their life and careers after college.

The Wily Network

The Wily Network serves students who are navigating college without a safety net. Wily partners with Scholars throughout their college experiences, working with them to manage challenges and celebrate successes at each stage of their educational journeys. The Wily Network improves college outcomes for promising young people who have persevered through such life challenges as aging out of foster care, experiencing homelessness, or lacking family support through clinical coaching, financial support, community building, and professional development.

Undocumented/DACA Students

Middlebury College fosters a welcoming and supportive community for Undocumented and DACA students while protecting their privacy. Undocumented and DACA students should contact Director of Equity Initiatives, Elaine Orozco Hammond, for confidential support.

Student Access and Support Grants

All students deserve the full Middlebury experience. In that spirit, students are invited to apply for Student Access and Support grants (SAS), formerly known as opportunity grants. SAS grants are funded by the Seizing Opportunities, Student Support, and Dean’s Emergency funds.

Student Access and Support grants can assist students with many essential and extracurricular expenses associated with life at Middlebury, including:

  • winter or professional clothing
  • attending conferences related to career interest
  • technology assistance (laptops and cellphones, but not Ipads)
  • emergency travel expenses
  • supplemental break assistance
  • recreational excursions
  • medical needs
  • wage relief for “all in” winter term course

These grants may NOT be used for tuition, room and board.
