    Student-Athletes of Color (SAOC) provides a safe space for Student-Athletes—Varsity and Club—who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) to celebrate their identity, its intersectionality and embrace the challenges that come with these individual identities. SAOC will utilize open-forum conversations, mindful workshops, and restorative group practices to facilitate dialogue about racial diversity and inclusion within the Athletic Department and the broader Middlebury College community.

  • Sunday Night Environmental Group Weekly Meeting

    Sunday Night Environmental Group (SNEG) is a non-hierarchical student org committed to climate and social justice activism. In the past we have pushed the college to divest from fossil fuels, passed anti-fossil fuel infrastructure resolutions in town, trained students on methods of non-violent direct action, occupied the statehouse, organized climate strikes, and so much more. We strive to ground our work in anti-racism, indigenous sovereignty, and community power. We meet in Hillcrest Orchard Room in person every Sunday night from 8:00-9:00 pm.

    All animals have visual systems that allow them to process relevant visual stimuli to inform their behaviors. In mammalians, these systems are very complex and often show the presence of retinotopy, a mechanism by which specific regions of the retina (the light-sensitive part of the eye) are mapped onto corresponding locations in the brain, helping preserve spatial information about the visual stimulus. But what about fruit flies? How do they process visual stimuli?
