    Jac Blinoff, “Feminist critique of human rights: Can we find a solution?”
    Offers an overview of feminist critiques of international human rights law and proposes, as a solution, to introduce legal guidelines for judges to promote a feminist interpretation and application of the law.

    8:00 PM August Newell, “Lesbian Specificity and Gender Beyond the Binary”
    Following an investigation into the nature of gender, I apply a framework of epistemic injustice to defend gender labels and their utility in enabling a diversity of liveable gendered existences.

    J-Club highlights aspects of traditional, pop, artistic, linguistic, and literary Japanese culture and brings them to campus. We host food events, screenings, celebrations like Harumatsuri (the Spring Festival), and workshops on topics like taiko and tea ceremonies. We also sometimes attend events in the surrounding area. Everyone is welcome regardless of experience with the Japanese language or culture. Stop by our weekly meetings or contact our email to cook, watch anime, enjoy Japanese music, and more with us!

    This workshop explores the expansiveness of gender while aiming to address its limitations. In this, we will try to challenge our own understanding of gender through discussing how/why it was constructed, how this impacts social norms now, and where we go from here.

  • Career Conversation and a Media Industry discussion with Rodney Rothman '95

    Please join us for a virtual career conversation and a media industry discussion with Rodney Rothman ‘95, a director, writer, and producer. Previously Rothman co-wrote and co-directed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. He also served as a producer or writer on the films 22 Jump Street, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Popstar, and Get Him to the Greek. In television, Rothman was hired as a staff writer at The Late Show with David Letterman when he was 21 years old.
