This interactive public art installation invites members of the Middlebury community to reflect on what matters most. By sharing personal hopes and aspirations on a communal wall, the project fosters connection, introspection, and a celebration of our shared humanity. Inspired by the global Before I Die project, this installation transforms public space into a canvas for gratitude, memory, and possibility.

Mahaney Arts Center Lower Lobby
Families are invited to stop by the Welcome Center in the lower lobby of the Mahaney Center for the Arts to check in, get a map or schedule, and grab a snack. Staff will also be available to answer questions. Open Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Mikaela will discuss her career in journalism, and how her experiences at Middlebury - including her summer as part of what has become the Privilege & Poverty Academic Cluster’s national internship cohort with the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty - shaped her career and experiences.
