    Sunday Night Environmental Group (SNEG) is a non-hierarchical student org committed to climate and social justice activism. In the past we have pushed the college to divest from fossil fuels, passed anti-fossil fuel infrastructure resolutions in town, trained students on methods of non-violent direct action, occupied the statehouse, organized climate strikes, and so much more. We strive to ground our work in anti-racism, indigenous sovereignty, and community power. All are welcome regardless of prior knowledge or experience.

    Please consider attending the Middlebury Women in Data Science (WiDS) 2024 conference! The conference will feature three Middlebury faculty providing lightning talks on their work in data science, an alumni panel from recent Middlebury graduates who currently work in data science positions, and a keynote talk by Assistant Professor Sarah Brown from the department of Computer Science at University of Rhode Island. Everyone is welcome to attend the WiDS conference! Food and prizes will be provided.

    Crossfit Middlebury hosts 1 hour workouts open to all students. Crossfit is “constantly varied, high-intensity functional movement” — a mix of gymnastics, weightlifing, and cardio.   • Walking Essentials: Going, Slowing, Growing, Knowing, Flowing

    No other creature walks like humans. Our feet shaped our pelvises, our hands, and our brains. We walk the way we do, therefore we are human beings.

    This is the first of a spring term series co-sponsored by The Scott Center and New Perennials to explore the meditative, spiritual, community-building power of walking. The series expands on Affiliate Humanist Chaplain Prof. Bill Vitek’s popular J-term walking class “Walking Body, Walking Mind.”  Light refreshments will be served.

  • West African Dance and Drum Class

    A rich taste of African culture that provides amazing, vigorous, high energy, and powerful movement. Let the beat of the drum move your body. Participants will learn songs, rhythms, dances, and culture as we embark on a journey of dances from the African diaspora.
    Class is accompanied by live musicians to help participants understand the communication between the music and the dance.

    Open to students, faculty, staff and community members age 13 and up!

    No credit. Attend one or all classes!
