  • Fall Family Weekend Parent Welcome Center

    Check in or register for Fall Family Weekend here! Pick up an open-class schedule, speakers’ information, a map and see a listing of what’s happening. Spend a minute walking around the tables set up with campus information, grab a drink and a snack, or stop by the Box Office to buy tickets for a show or two during the semester.

    Special Collections’ newest exhibit features 100 years of pop-up books from the fanciful to the functional, from science textbooks to fairy tales. The exhibit is installed in Davis Family Library on the Main Level.

  • Fall Family Weekend Center for Careers and Internships Open House

    The Center for Careers and Internships (CCI) works with students from their first year and all throughout their time at Middlebury to help assess their interests, gain experience, and develop a plan for the future. CCI’s advisors and resources focus on all areas of career exploration, from arts to technology to finance to education, and more. We host many information sessions and workshops each year that build skills and connect students with employers and alumni. CCI also helps with decisions such as choosing a major and finding and funding summer and winter term internships.

    Gallery Talk—The Light of the Levant: Early Photography and the Late Ottoman Empire

    “The Light of the Levant: Early Photography and the Late Ottoman Empire” traces nearly a century of photography in the region. Curated by History of Art and Architecture faculty Pieter Broucke and Sarah Rogers, the exhibition includes the work of foreign and local photographers, both professional and amateur, to showcase the various scientific, commercial, ideological, and personal uses of the new medium and highlight a network of circulation in which images transported ideas about cultural otherness, imperial desires, and notions of modernity.

  • Fall Faculty Forum

    Fall Faculty Forum showcases the amazing scholarship and creative work produced by Middlebury faculty.

    The forum features 60-minute sessions with parallel panels. Panels will consist of 3 faculty presentations, followed by conversation with the audience. Panels are interdisciplinary in scope but linked by theme, and each presentation will be accessible to non-experts, including faculty, staff, and students with a wide range of interests and background.

  • Fall Family Weekend Special Collections Open House

    Home to rare books and manuscripts from a 4,000-year-old Cuneiform tablet to contemporary artists’ books, Special Collections serves as a research laboratory for the history of the book and material culture; in addition to collecting and preserving the history of the College, as custodians for Middlebury College’s history and the Middlebury College Archives.

  • FFW - Privilege & Poverty Academic Cluster Lunch Discussion: Doing the work - summer student experiences in community

    Students from the Privilege & Poverty summer internship cohorts will discuss their experiences working with community organizations to address the causes and consequences of economic inequality in Addison County and beyond. We will discuss how their academics prepared them for their community-based work, and how they are integrating what they learned in community back into their academic inquiry. This is a Fall Family Weekend event.
