    Pre-Semester Workshop is a three-day dance intensive open to all students culminating in a performance at Convocation.

    12:30 pm 5:30 pm on September 6th and 7th,
    12:30 pm on the 8th end Time TBA – we are performing at Convocation for First Years on the evening of the 8th around 5 pm (to be confirmed)
    You must attend all 3 days of pre-semester.

  • Peyton's Liederabend

    Come join Peyton Mader & friends for a cozy evening of German song. This event serves as a celebration and showcase of Peyton Mader’s (‘24) thesis work with the German Department, exploring the world of German songwriting. This event will feature original music as well as the performance of some classic German art songs. This event will be accessible to non-German speakers.

  • Drop-in Korean Drumming

    Drop-in to learn to play the traditional Korean percussion genre samulnori. Samulnori blends traditional Korean rhythms into dynamic pieces using four Korean percussion instruments: janggu (hourglass drum), buk (barrel drum), jing (large gong), and ggwaenggwari (small gong). Participants will start by learning technique and basic rhythms and progress to more complex rhythms and sequences. No experience needed!

  • The History of Tenryumura - screening and reception

    The History of Tenryumura: A documentary on the World War II history of a small village in the mountains of Nagano Prefecture, Japan and how one community reckons with a significant, tragic, and painful segment of its past. The screening will be followed by a reception and Q&A with village leaders, the documentarians, and student translators. Japanese with subtitles.
