  • Korean Drumming

    Drop-in to learn to play the traditional Korean percussion genre samulnori. Samulnori blends traditional Korean rhythms into dynamic pieces using four Korean percussion instruments: janggu (hourglass drum), buk (barrel drum), jing (large gong), and ggwaenggwari (small gong). Participants will start by learning technique and basic rhythms and progress to more complex rhythms and sequences. No experience needed!

    Pianist Brianna Matzke comes to Middlebury to perform Tremor, the latest program commissioned by The Response Project. This personal project includes the world premiere of the full-length version of pneuma by Dr. Matthew Evan Taylor, Assistant Professor of Music.

    Students present on campus are welcome to join the Rugby Club practices. Led by our coach and club-elected co-captains, practice consists of familiarizing players with ball handling, game rules, plays, and lots of fun!

    Beginner Ballet with Barbara Doyle-Wilch

    Ballet returns to the Dance Department this Fall. 

    Classical Ballet technique in traditional ballet class structure. No pointe shoes, please. Each session is open to a maximum of 20 participants. PE credit is available once 8 classes have been attended.

    Previous dance experience in any form is recommended.

  • How To Talk About Wealth and Class Privilege 101

    Join us for an evening of conversation, reflection, and organizing around wealth and class privilege with fellow students. Susanna Penfield of Resource Generation (RG) will facilitate an educational workshop on wealth and class privilege and introduce students to RG’s theory of change, organizing model, and achievements.
