Field Guide for Education Studies

Presented by the Center for Careers and Internships and cosponsored by academic departments, Field Guides bring alumni back to campus to share knowledge and experience related to their post-Middlebury careers and professional lives with current students.

On March 24-25 Middlebury graduates working in education will come to campus virtually for the Education Studies Field Guide. Thursday evening, alumni will participate in a panel. Friday morning, our alumni guests will hold one-on-one chats with students.

Interested in joining a large network of service programs meeting community needs in education, the environment, and public health and safety all over the country? Join the Center for Community Engagement to learn about AmeriCorps. This panel will host recent Middlebury graduates to share what AmeriCorps is, the kinds of service programs you can serve in, and how AmeriCorps can help you gain experience. Working on a political campaign can offer you the opportunity to develop a range of skills within a fast-paced environment. Campaigns allow you an insider’s scoop on the electoral process, as well as the day-to-day schedule and concerns of elected officials and their constituents. If you’ve ever thought of working on a campaign, be it fill-time, part-time or volunteer, attend this virtual panel discussion with Middlebury alumni. Learn about their different roles on a campaign, current trends in their work and their own paths from campus to career. Bring your questions.

Working at the Intersection of Consulting, Law, and Politics: Alumni Career Conversation

Join Aaron Mendelsohn ’95, for an informal group chat to talk with you and answer your questions about his career in law, politics, and consulting. Currently Aaron works at EY in the Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services practice. He studied History and Art History at Midd and went to law school at Northwestern. He has worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in D.C. and New Jersey, on several presidential campaigns, and at law firms including Wilmer Hale and Troutman Sanders.

Winter-Term EMT Course Information Meeting

The Winter Term EMT Program is a credit bearing comprehensive, emergency medical internship that is co-sponsored by Middlebury College and the University of Vermont Initiative for Rural Emergency Medical Services. We are fortunate to have the local Middlebury Regional EMS support the internship practical training. The intensive month program will provide students the opportunity to become nationally certified EMTs, and once licensed, students are invited to join MREMS as volunteer EMT-B’s.

Winter-Term EMT Course Fall Information Meeting

The Winter Term EMT Program is a credit bearing comprehensive, emergency medical internship that is co-sponsored by Middlebury College and Middlebury Regional EMS. The intensive month long program will provide students the opportunity to become nationally certified EM-B’s. EMT skills may be used to provide medical support on the ambulance, at the Open Door Clinic and other College and community events.
