When Middlebury faculty and staff innovate as educators, what impact does it have on the broader curriculum? This event features members of the EAC and some recent pedagogical pioneers in a discussion about pedagogical experimentation and its relationship to the curriculum that we have as well as the curriculum that we might want in the future. As the year draws to a close, what could you contribute to this thought-provoking, forward-looking conversation? All are welcome to this lunchtime discussion.

Join the faculty and students from the Data Science Across the Disciplines course to hear about their experiences and findings, and to discuss broader implications for providing all students equitable and inspiring access to data and digital tools.

This workshop and discussion will offer faculty a chance to hear from students who are trained in writing pedagogy and the scholarship of teaching and learning about their thoughts on ChatGPT and other AI technologies. Faculty will have an opportunity to talk about the project of learning (and teaching) at Middlebury College and the impacts of AI. This is a chance to bring students and faculty together for an exciting dialogue on the ramifications of AI and to brainstorm ways to respond to it in the classroom. Lunch will be provided.

Middlebury will be joining hundreds of educational institutions around the world (in more than 50 countries and most US states) in the Worldwide Teach-In on Climate Change during the week of March 27-31. Last year’s event included participation from more than 30 faculty - from Economics, Environmental Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Theatre, Arabic, Geology, Dance, Computer Science, English, and other fields, reaching (by some conservative estimates) over 400 students. This year we are hoping to reach the majority of our campus community!

FOR FACULTY: This three-day symposium will kick off a new series called Writing in the Changing Academy, inviting our campus community to talk about writing both within and beyond traditional academic norms.
