  • Gathering and Uncoupling An Exhibit of Historic Clothing and Contemporary Photography

    The Johnson Exhibition Gallery, located in the newly renovated Johnson Memorial Building, presents Gathering and Uncoupling; An exhibition of Historic Clothing and Contemporary Photography. The exhibit includes objects from the Middlebury College Antique Clothing Collection and Photographic works by artist Rob O’Neil.

  • A Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols for Advent and Christmas

    An annual celebration of traditional Christmas music and biblical texts of the season.

    Led by Dean of Spiritual and Religious Life Mark R. Orten, and Middlebury College Choir Musical Director Jeffrey Buettner.

    Two services, at 4:00 and 7:00 pm. Donations will be accepted for local charities.  

    Large print programs available. American Sign Language interpretation at the 4:00 service only.

  • Building the Creative Studio; Robbie Seltzer '15

    Robbie Seltzer ‘15 will give a presentation on “Building the Creative Studio”. Since graduating from Middlebury with a Studio Art degree, Robbie has designed and built creative spaces ranging from an apartment art gallery to a community design center.

    As artists and designers, we use studios to think, make, convene, display, and so much more. Studios are one of our most important tools! By learning the skills to build out our own studios, we can make better work.

  • Awkward Robot's Instruction Manual For Dating Other Awkward Robots

    Come join us for the first reading in the 2023 J-Term Play Term play reading series! Awkward Robot’s Instruction Manual For Dating Other Awkward Robots by Matthew Weaver is a new play that will be presented in a staged reading directed by Beck Barsanti and performed by Maggie Blake (23) and Hannah Alberti (26). A-19 is an Awkward Robot. The Toastburn Company lost the instruction manual for Awkward Robots. A-19 is good at awkwarding anyway. A natural. Gifted. But A-19 wants to write an instruction manual so they know how to navigate dating.

This ensemble has always had a particular association with Béla Bartók, the great 20th-century Hungarian composer whose six quartets are among the pinnacles of 20th-century chamber music.
