Join Visiting Lecturer and Senator Ruth Hardy and students in her Women in U.S. Electoral Politics class for a panel discussion with women in Vermont politics, including Speaker Jill Krowinski, Senate Pro Tempore Becca Balint, Lieutenant Governor Molly Gray, and several more women in state and local elected office. Panelists will discuss the barriers and opportunities they’ve faced as women in politics, how they approach campaigning and public service, and their priorities as we move into a new legislative session and election year.

In Our Great Purpose (2021), Professor Hanley, one of today’s leading Smith scholars, shows us Smith in an entirely new light—and along the way, teaches us what it truly means to possess an excellent character and lead a worthy life.

Shahzia Sikander, the Pakistani-born internationally acclaimed artist who now resides in New York City, will join in a conversation about the meanings and context of Sikander‘s newly installed glass mosaic. Perennial Gaze is the newest addition to Middlebury College’s renowned Public Art Collection.   A reception will follow the talk. FREE
