Leave a small footprint, make a positive change - and keep more cash in your pocket

The Education & Outreach Committee — a subset of students, faculty, and staff on the Environmental Council — will host four informational sessions about how you can put Middlebury’s, “Leave a Small Footprint” efforts to work in your personal life. The first session will share strategies about electricity conservation, the second will discuss food issues, the third will address reducing waste, and the fourth will focus on how to live green in life post-Middlebury. At each session there will be an expert from on or off campus giving insight to the topics.

Finding and Funding a Summer Internship

The Center for Education in Action (EIA) is excited to announce the doubling of funds to support unpaid summer internships, self-designed projects, and service experiences, local, national, and international. Internships are a great way to explore a career interest, connect to academic work, or pursue a deep personal interest. Come to this session to learn about the newly revised application process, more flexible deadlines (now 3, not just 1) and also hear from students who benefited from funds last year.

Walking Tree: Recruiter in Residence

We have found that our most rewarding travel experiences come from being active members of a community rather than passive tourists. For this reason, Walking Tree specializes in programs that integrate travelers into communities around the world where they will work to complete meaningful community service while living with local families. Our programs are designed for a proactive, select group of travelers who are not looking for the typical tourist trip, but rather an opportunity to interact with another culture while forming relationships that can continue long after they return home.
