Panel discussion with seven dance alumni regarding their careers in artmaking beyond Middlebury. 

An evening of performance from the Dance Department’s Faculty and Staff along with several special guest artists.

The Movement Matters Masterclass series welcomes dance artist Dr. Hye-Won Hwang’s Introductory Contact Improvisation workshop for movers of all levels.
In this dance class students will explore a set of basic techniques of contact improvisation such as sensing, touching, partial weight-sharing, and spontaneous responding that promote movement awareness, intercultural dialogue, and community building. 

This dance performance event features three original works by UVM Professor Paul Besaw, in collaboration with an amazing team of musicians and dancers: Julian Barnett, Clare Byrne, Julie Peoples-Clark, Hye-Won Hwang, Matt LaRocca, D. Thomas Toner, Avi Waring, and Willow Wonder.

The works: To the Earth, The Un-Earthers, and Groundlings fit loosely together in an exploration of the macro and the micro of life on Earth – the beauty and wonder of the planet, the trials and obstacles of so many of its people, and individual day-to-day challenges and triumphs.

SLMDances is a New York City based dance-theater collective that works in communities to organize for gender and racial justice.
Professor Jeff Buettner’s Sing the World into Place Winter Term course.
Music created by Professor’s McLean Macionis and Matthew Taylor and Lighting design by Bert Crosby.

Technique and Choreography, Dance 0260, will share sections of choreography that students have made and leaned this semester in an informal showing with lights and music. Come and celebrate the culmination of the student’s creative work.
