Peter Hirsch ‘12, Head of Sustainability at 2150, a climate tech-oriented venture capital firm in London, will return to campus for a conversation moderated by students Kavina Amin ‘24 (Economics and History) and Gianna Palli ‘23.5 (Art History and Economics).

In the urban environment of Kinshasa, amid social and political chaos, an eclectic and bubbling street art scene is emerging. (1 hour 34 minutes.)

Kaleidoscope: Multi Media Student Exhibit & Performance Night

“Shake the Dust” is a feature documentary that tells the stories of break dancers from conflicted “third- world” communities around the globe who, although separated by cultural boundaries and individual struggles, are intrinsically tied to one another through their passion for dance and hip-hop culture.

Veteran b-girl Ana “Rokafella” Garcia’s first documentary film ALL THE LADIES SAY features the work of female breakdancers in the United States, including Aiko, Baby Love, Beta, Lady Champ, Severe and Vendetta. This film raises awareness of the female presence in Hip-hop and promotes the growth of this dance community in the United States and internationally. Discussions about femininity, motherhood and the representation of women in popular culture are a few of the themes explored by the dancers.

The George Lakey Documentary Film presents the life and work of a nonviolent revolutionary, a deeply spiritual man with a rebel heart, who has been guided in life by his ideal of societal transformation. George Lakey will speak after the film.  

As a highlight of a new course in “conflict transformation (CT) skills,” the CT Collaborative features sujatha baliga as a contributor to the Winter term, offering her expertise in the area of harm and forgiveness in restorative justice. sujatha baliga’s work is characterized by an equal dedication to crime survivors and people who’ve caused harm. A former victim advocate and public defender, baliga was awarded a Soros Justice Fellowship in 2008 which she used to launch a pre-charge restorative juvenile diversion program. sujatha earned her A.B. from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, her J.D.

Head on down to Dana Auditorium to be serenaded by your very favorite Otters. A new musical will be birthed! It’s the perfect respite from the finals grind…as well as a particularly merry way to get into the Holiday Spirit!
