National Novel Writing Month

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought fleetingly about writing a novel. Join our local chapter of November novelists every Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Design Sp@ce.

Mastermind Information Session

What’s a mastermind? It’s a group of people who get together on a regular basis to talk about their professional goals, get advice and encouragement from each other, share resources, celebrate wins, and keep each other accountable for what they said they would do. A mastermind helps you and your mastermind group members achieve success. Who is it for? Anyone can be in a mastermind.

Middlebury’s Office of Digital Learning & Inquiry invites you to learn more about its emerging Informational Environmentalism (or, Info-Environmentalism) initiative. This lunch-time jam session led by Amy Collier, Associate Provost of Digital Learning, is open to anyone who is concerned about the health of our digital information environments (social media, the web).

Daily Drop-In Writing Group

Faculty, staff, and students are all welcome to attend this writing group. The purpose is simply to offer a time and space to write during the week. This allows you to put it in your calendar so you can make regular progress on your writing goals, especially if you “have been meaning to write more.” It’s also an opportunity to meet with other writers at MIIS. No writing critiques or sharing your writing, unless you want to. We just get together and write. Drop in whenever you want.
