FIRE: Fostering Inclusive Recreational Experiences

Beginner friendly skateboarding session. No previous experience required! Come join us to learn how to skateboard with some good vibes. Boards and protective gear provided.

Come learn climbing or hone you climbing skills on some real rock!! We’ll meet at 12:30pm in the FIC (Freeman International Center) parking lot, drive to the cliffs, climb, and be back on campus before dinner time! No experience necessary!

Sunrise hike up the college ski mountain! We’ll meet at ADK circle at 4:15am and return by 8:00am. The hike is uphill for about 1.5mi and then we’ll watch the pretty sunrise colors before going down the same 1.5mi. 

We will leave from ADK at 6pm and return to campus by 9:30pm latest. The hike is around 4 miles roundtrip with a beautiful view of the Champlain Valley at the top. Bring a headlamp or flashlight if you have one and extras will be provided. Go to the gear room during their hours for headlamps that you can rent out if you don’t have one!

FIRE and Middlebury College Sailing Club will be joining forces to offer an afternoon of sailing for FIRE members and BIPOC students!

A telemark ski clinic at the SnowBowl by the FreeHeelers and FIRE. The clubs will provide skis and tickets. All experiences are welcome but comfort on skis recommended.
