Transportation

  • Middlebury Regional Emergency Medical Services (MREMS)

    DIAL 911 FOR EMERGENCIES
    Non-emergency calls: (802) 388-3286

The Middlebury Regional Emergency Medical Services (MREMS) provides emergency transportation from the Middlebury area to the UVM Health Network Porter Medical Center.

  • Tri-Valley Transit

    (802) 388-2287

Tri Valley Transit (TVT) accepts student requests for transportation to medical/dental appointments around Middlebury, to Burlington and other locations with advanced notice.

Students with an appointment known in advance should call TVT, identify themselves as a Middlebury student and ask for assistance in scheduling a ride. The scheduler will work with the student to determine the appropriate option to accommodate their request.

Many appointment needs may be met by utilizing an existing public transit bus route schedule.

  • Public Safety

    (802) 443-5911

Public Safety provides non-emergency transportation for on-campus students to the Center for Health and Wellness in Centeno House, 136 South Main Street, during its business hours, and to Porter Medical Center after hours. Students exhibiting signs of illness may be required to wear a mask and to sanitize hands before transport.

To arrange non-emergency medical transport to the Center for Health and Wellness or to the Porter Medical Center, please call the Public Safety business line at (802) 443-5133.

Please note, transportation cannot be guaranteed and the ability to provide transport is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The safety and wellbeing of the campus community is the department’s number one priority. As such, Officers need to remain on campus as much as possible so that they are able to respond in the event of an emergency. Therefore, students with scheduled, non-emergency medical appointments should first attempt to utilize public transportation, such as Tri-Valley Transit, or explore the possibility of getting a ride from a trusted friend prior to reaching out to Public Safety.
