"Release Peace Magazine" 2024-2025
The Rohatyn Global Fellows have partnered with Release Peace — a non-profit, non-partisan organization (headquartered in The Hague) whose work in the peace and security fields includes interaction with high-level personnel at the EU, US State Department, UN ambassadors, and others. This partnership offers Rohatyn Global Fellows opportunities to work with professional editors to author and publish articles on a range of geopolitical, historical, global, or cultural issues in the organization’s online magazine, Release Peace.
“Geopolitics in Western Sahara”

February 2025 - Rowan Cleary ‘27, an International and Global Studies (Migration and Diaspora) major, had his article “Geopolitics in Western Sahara” published.
Under the blazing Saharan sun, a conflict has simmered for nearly five decades in the largest non-self-governing territory on Earth. Western Sahara sits between Mauritania to the East and the Atlantic Ocean to the West. It is at the center of a power struggle with global implications.

“A New Frontier: The Potential of AI for Lithium Mining”

February 2025 - Luke Parkerson ‘26.5, an International Politics and Economics major, had his article “A New Frontier: The Potential of AI for Lithium Mining” published.
While AI is most often associated with consumer tools like chatbots, its quieter applications in industries like resource extraction could be equally transformative. In mining, AI can enhance geological exploration by reading and analysing trends in mineral exploration datasets and quickly identifying mining sites with optimal geochemical conditions.
