We hope that as most of you have left campus, your journeys went as smoothly as possible, given the circumstances. And we hope that you have at least begun to settle into your new, and unanticipated, living arrangements.

    Once again, we want to reiterate our appreciation for your willingness to pivot so quickly to new ways of teaching following spring break. We know that many faculty colleagues have been working overtime to reimagine their courses, and that this work will continue in the coming weeks. What we are dealing with is unprecedented for us, and we just wanted to acknowledge, again, the scale of the task in front of us all.

    Late yesterday, the Vermont Department of Health announced the state’s first case of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus. Officials are awaiting confirmation of the presumptive positive test result by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
