The 2025 Summer Research Program included 140 research assistants working with faculty mentors from various disciplines on the Middlebury campus.

Research assistant positions are generally full-time for 8-10 weeks and include training, workshops, hands-on research, and some Vermont summer fun. See the full schedule of activities.

The program opened with a luncheon in June and closed with a symposium on July 31, 2025 where research assistants presented their discoveries in a poster session.  Middlebury community members can access the symposium’s program.

Positions are made possible by grant and donor funding. Departments that participated in the summer research program this year included:
