Winter Term Deadlines

Gates Center Summer Internship Program (GSIP) @ Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine & Stem Cell Biology in Denver, CO

The Gates Center Summer Internship Program (May 27 - August 8) encourages current sophomores and juniors majoring in science to consider careers in stem cell research. Scholars attend biweekly lectures given by Gates Center faculty and present their work at the end of the internship at a poster presentation session. The opportunity is open to international students who possess an F1 visa and interns receive a stipend of $7,000. Applications are open now through February 2, 11:59 pm MT. Read more and apply here.

Senior Research Project Supplement (SRPS) and Hoskin International Research Fund 

Applications are due January 24 (for senior work to be completed during academic year 2024-2025). Students can apply for up to $1,200 for SRPS and $3,000 for Hoskin or Padma Desai funding-eligible projects. SRPS also has a rolling deadline for requests that are $350 or less. See go/srps or go/hoskin for more information and application instructions. For senior work planned for 2025-2026, upcoming deadlines are April 15 and Oct 1.

Udall Scholarship

Applications for nomination are due January 20, noon ET. The Udall provides a tuition award for students committed to careers in environmental fields or Native American students focused on Native American issues. Eligibility requirements include sophomore or junior status, strong GPA, US citizenship, and record of leadership/initiative. See go/udall for more information and application instructions.

Spring Student Symposium

Share your research and creative works with the Middlebury Community on Friday, April 11! All class years and all disciplines invited to participate. Apply to present by February 26. See go/sym for more information.

Kellogg Research Fellowship 

This fellowship application for senior work in Humanities and areas of humanistic inquiry is due March 1. The fellowship award of $5,000 supports research expenses and academic travel for senior work to be completed in the 2025-2026 academic year. Event: Fulbright/Watson Fellowship Information Session

Wednesday, February 18, 4:30 pm, Davis Library 201
Join Dean Lisa Gates to learn about the Fulbright scholarship and Watson Fellowship programs, the application process, and updates for next year. The Watson Fellowship provides funding for the year following graduation to pursue an international, multi-country independent, and self-designed project. Open to all citizenships. go/watson. Fulbright Grants provide academic year funding for graduate study, independent research, and English teaching assistant positions. Event: UK Fellowships Info Session—Rhodes, Marshall, and More!

Have you considered applying to graduate school in the UK? Join Dean Lisa Gates for an overview of UK fellowships, what makes an ideal candidate, and a review of the nomination and application process. Scholarship competitions discussed include the Churchill, Gates-Cambridge, Marshall, Rhodes, and St Andrews scholarships. The deadline for UK-Irish nomination applications is April 4, 11:59 pm ET. If you are considering applying for a UK fellowship, you must apply by this nomination deadline. See go/uk-irish for detailed information.

Middlebury-Vermont Law School Scholarship 

Full tuition for JD and/or Masters in Environmental Law and Policy programs. Open to seniors/alumni accepted to VLS. Nomination applications due late February. go/vls 

Beinecke Scholarship

Funding for graduate study (MA, PhD) in humanities and social sciences. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship, history of financial need, strong academic record, and junior status. Apply for nomination by January 27. See go/beinecke for more information.
