Starting with a glimpse at the rich history of the Newport Bermuda Race, the speaker will then delve into a behind the scenes look at the shape of the race today as it celebrates a century as one of the world’s premier ocean races. From the challenge of the Gulf Stream and weather to the record breaking fleet of small boats and super-maxis in the 2006 Centennial, the presentation looks at the pinnacle of the sport and the celebration of 100 years of offshore racing.
