Opportunity out west

Davis UWC Scholar Dristy
Shrestha '11.5 had a dream to bring electricity to a remote Nepali village, and a Projects for Peace grant in the summer of 2009 gave her the means to do so. The significant challenges--and rewards--of mounting such an ambitious project from the ground up made her hungry for professional training. So this past January, she headed west for an intensive three-week graduate course at Monterey's Development Project Management Institute. There, she gained practical, marketable skills sure to serve her well in her chosen field of international development.

Listen to Dristy's story.
