Thanks to support for the renovation of Kohn Field from alumni, parents, and friends, the Middlebury teams who use the field are off to a great start to the current season.

The renovation has helped to fuel the field hockey team’s drive toward the NESCAC championships after completing the season 12-2 overall and 8-2 in league play. The team defeated Williams 3-0 this past Saturday to advance to the NESCAC semifinal round at Bowdoin on November 5.

lauren_greer“There’s no doubt that the new surface helped us hone our technical skills and set plays,” says Coach Katharine DeLorenzo. “And the lights gave us the flexibility to hold practices later in the day. But equally important was knowing that parents and previous generations of players were behind us and helped to make the renovation possible.”

Lacrosse coach Missy Foote agreed. “It means so much to me and to the team that parents and former players made helping us a priority. I hope that they will come back and see us in action on the field this spring.”
