Responsible for strengthening relationships with the Hispanic community, he develops and manages relationships with key local, state, and national Hispanic political, business, civic, and community leaders. At Coca-Cola, he previously served as director of investor relations; vice president of the South Florida Marketing Unit; special assistant in the Office of the CEO; director of planning and execution, Global Marketing; and director of marketing, World of Coca-Cola. Before joining Coca-Cola, he was co-founder and president of giveashare.com. He earlier held corporate planning positions with Choice Hotels International and Taco Bell Corp.

Volunteer involvements: Humberto is a trustee of The Nature Conservancy’s Georgia chapter and a member of the board of the Latin American Association. He is a founding member of the Orange County Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and a former board member of the South Florida chapter of Autism Speaks.

Education: After graduating from Middlebury, where he majored in economics and French, Humberto earned an MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Why I volunteer for Middlebury: I left a very impersonal educational system in Spain and wanted to find a place where I not only could learn and be educated, but build meaningful relationships. I definitely found that at Middlebury. I want to give others the opportunities that I enjoyed.

Why I support financial aid for international students: This world is changing, and it can be polarizing. It’s so important to have a place where people from all over can come together, and work together. Diverse students are the key ingredient.
