Student Life
A Wide Range of Co-curricular Activities
Though academics are highly stressed at the Beijing school, the program's philosophy is based on balance between scholastic achievement and cultural immersion. As such, students are encouraged to take advantage of the rich culture, history, and diversity of the nation's capital city. The Beijing school organizes activities every week which are designed to showcase the gems of Beijing. Chinese roommates are invited to attend, and MIC covers the cost of these activities.
Reimbursement Program for Independent Activities and Travel
The School in China recognizes students' diverse interests, and equips them to enrich their experience via the Reimbursement Program. To encourage students and roommates to pursue their own activities outside of class, the School offers a small weekly activity stipend in the form of a "cultural activity reimbursement." Reimbursement can be used for costs incurred such as tickets for Chinese movies, entry tickets for museums, parks, etc. In addition, on one weekend per semester, students and roommates are allotted an extra sum of money to be used for group travel outside of Beijing.
