Prescription Delivery Policy

As a courtesy to Middlebury College students, Parton Health Service has an arrangement with two local pharmacies (Kinney Drugs and Marble Works Pharmacy) for the delivery of prescription medications to our clinic for students to pick-up.  Kinney Drugs and Marble Works Pharmacy deliver prescriptions daily.  When the pharmacy delivers prescriptions, they are logged into our pharmacy book.  Medications are stored appropriately (refrigerated and non-refrigerated) and picked up by the student at their convenience. Parton Health Service expects that students will pick-up their prescriptions in a timely manner.

Parton Health Service has a policy with regard to the length of time prescriptions can be stored:

  1. If prescriptions are not picked up within one week of delivery, you will receive an email notification that your prescription is available and ready for pick-up.
  2. If the prescription is a non-refrigerated medication and has not been picked up within 30 days of delivery, you will receive one final email notification that your prescription will be disposed of if not picked up by the first Wednesday of the following month.
  3. If the prescription is a refrigerated medication and has not been picked up within 30 days of delivery, you will receive an email notification that the prescription will be disposed of within 60 days of delivery.
  4. If the prescription is a vaccine, it will be kept in refrigerated storage until the expiration date.  If the prescription vaccine has not been picked up and has expired, it will be properly disposed of at Parton Health Service.
