Barbara McCall

Barbara joined the Middlebury College community the summer of 2013. She earned her MPH in community health education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where her graduate project focused on peer health educators and student leadership in higher education. Barbara has also led health promotion workshops with migrant farmworkers, nutritition and literacy curricula with school-aged children, and childbirth education and preparation classes for pregnant and parenting families. Her undergraduate degree in biology and certificate in culture, health, and science come from Mount Holyoke College. 

Barbara is a generalist in college-based health education, but her specialty areas include sexual health, women's/LGBTQ health, violence prevention, advocacy, and peer education and leadership development. She has a special interest in intersectional health promotion and prevention, which focuses on meeting the skill-building and resource needs of high impact populations. She is a certified health education specialist and a trained birth and postpartum doula.
