    The speaking game nobody asked for, but everyone will want to try — this decade-long passion project of Middlebury’s Oratory Now peer coaches is finally ready for prime time. Join us for a beer, a slice, and the world premiere of Oratory Cow. It’s fun, it’s weird, and yes, you might just sharpen your speaking chops along the way. (No actual cows involved.) 

    Veteran coaches will host and be the dealers for 2-3 rounds of Oratory Cow — a brand new card game that collects the greatest hits among Oratory Now’s speaking challenges and randomizes them to create a lighthearted, highly sociable speaking game.

    Guests are welcome to purchase food or drink, but no purchases are required.

Beginners and families are welcome. Bring your own skis or snowshoes, or rent equipment from Rikert for an additional fee.

    Join artist Rebecca Li ’21 for a tour of her solo exhibition, which showcases her recent oil paintings themed around family history, female artisanship, and text-image relations across cultural contexts. Located in the vibrant vintage bookstore neighborhood of Jimbocho in Kanda district, the venue, Yubido, is a historic-frame-shop-turned public art space and a classic example of traditional Japanese kanban architecture. The show is supported by 3331, an established art organization in Japan running Yubido and involved with such events as the Tokyo Biennale. 

    Yubido has a cozy cafe and hangout area on the first floor, so food, drinks, and further chats could take place before or after the tour, depending on interest.
