Jody Smith and Joseph Watson found four poisonous books in the College Special Collections that contain arsenic. Watson, a preservation manager for Special Collections, identified suspected books by their brilliant green covers. Smith, who is the associate director for Sciences Technology Support Services, performed X-ray analyses to confirm the poisonous element.
