    The Student Investment Committee’s Financials Industry Group prepares stock pitches for the SIC’s portfolio, pitching stocks in the financial industry. During our weekly meetings, we will be preparing a stock pitch, learning complementary investing concepts, and covering additional material guided by the committee members.

    The Project-Based Learning Community of Practice was launched this year for faculty and staff curious about or already implementing Project-Based Learning into courses at Middlebury. Meetings are twice a month to accommodate schedules, with varying agendas and topics that focus on sharing practice, problem-solving, identifying helpful resources, and contributing to and benefiting from a growing group of practitioners and body of knowledge here at the College.     “Candle Light, Museum Architecture, and Art Conservation”

    Mark Aronson, painting conservator at the Yale Center for British Art, Louis Kahn’s last building, will discuss the ways in which architecture, light, and the lighting interact with each other, how they influence the way in which paintings age, and how a conservator must negotiate a balance between the scientific understanding of light, the aging of works of art, and the way in which audiences like to see them. Co-sponsored by the Johnson Endowment Fund.
