    MSA is very excited to host the director of the Spiritual & Religious Life Office, Dean Mark Orten, for a joint-halaqah this Friday, 7 pm. As a tradition that is deeply immersed in a sacred vision of nature and self, Islamic thought finds itself enmeshed in contemporary debates surrounding religion, science and rationality. In this week’s halaqah on Religion and Science, Dean Mark Orten will be speaking to the MSA about the history and possibilities for broader conversation between these two domains. March 9th, Forest Prayer Room / Dinner will be provided.

    Small Island Big Song

  • AIKIDO

    Classes led by Professor Jonathan Miller-Lane and Middlebury graduate Corey Selover. PE credit available. Aikido is a 20th century Japanese martial art founded by Morihei Ueshiba, O’Sensei, (1883-1969). In these sessions, we will focus on the potential of Aikido techniques and principles to transform conflict from a binary confrontation among individuals to an interaction of powerful and dynamic energy. No prior experience is necessary. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that includes leg coverings (such as sweats) rather than shorts. All bodies are welcome.
