  • Drop-in Korean Drumming

    Drop-in to learn to play the traditional Korean percussion genre samulnori. Samulnori blends traditional Korean rhythms into dynamic pieces using four Korean percussion instruments: janggu (hourglass drum), buk (barrel drum), jing (large gong), and ggwaenggwari (small gong). Participants will start by learning technique and basic rhythms and progress to more complex rhythms and sequences. No experience needed!

    Movement Matters series welcomes: Dance Tramp’s TERRESTRIALS: life on the ground

    This dance performance event features three original works by UVM Professor Paul Besaw, in collaboration with an amazing team of musicians and dancers: Julian Barnett, Clare Byrne, Julie Peoples-Clark, Hye-Won Hwang, Matt LaRocca, D. Thomas Toner, Avi Waring, and Willow Wonder.

    The works: To the Earth, The Un-Earthers, and Groundlings fit loosely together in an exploration of the macro and the micro of life on Earth – the beauty and wonder of the planet, the trials and obstacles of so many of its people, and individual day-to-day challenges and triumphs.
