    Spencer Prize in Oratory 2024 Grand Championship

    In honor of the late Professor Emeritus and former trustee John Spencer, Oratory Now is pleased to present the seventh annual speech competition for first-year students. Qualifying rounds culminate in this Championship event featuring the 2024 finalists. Details are at oratorynow.org/spencer.

    Crossfit Middlebury hosts 1 hour workouts open to all students. Crossfit is “constantly varied, high-intensity functional movement” — a mix of gymnastics, weightlifing, and cardio.   • Exploring an Indigenous Just Transition: Conversation with Earl Hatley

    Earl Hatley will join Middlebury College for a conversation on the essential and critical frameworks we need to have when discussing a just transition in Vermont, the USA, and globally. Hatley argues that, at this moment, the transition away from fossil fuels towards solar, wind, and battery storage heavily depends on precious minerals like copper, lithium, nickel, cobalt, and many more. Where are these natural resources being extracted from?
