    While #MeToo movement has emerged as a significant global phenomenon since late 2017, Japan initially exhibited a notably muted response. This stands in stark contrast to neighboring South Korea, where the movement ignited a powerful wave of revelations, empowering women to break their silence. However, the persistent efforts of courageous women like Shiori Ito, coupled with a series of controversial not-guilty verdicts in sexual assault cases, eventually catalyzed a shift in Japan.

    The Dogteam Project - Auditions and Interviews for Summer 2025

    The Dogteam Theatre Project, now in its third season, is a professional theatre company structured around alternating building and producing summers, with the former dedicated to script development and training and the latter to rehearsing and producing 2 plays in rep in NYC. For this building summer, we will welcome 12-16 students to join professional theatre makers for a two-week residency dedicated to script development and advanced training for actors, directors, designers, technicians, playwrights, and stage managers.
