    An Evening with Paul Asbell

    Join us for a performance by internationally recognized fingerstyle guitarist Paul Asbell. With a multi-decade career that includes joining the seminal Butterfield Blues band, founding and leading jazz group Kilimanjaro, and playing and recording with a veritable who’s who of blues and jazz greats, Asbell is a musician’s musician. This performance will highlight the history of the American guitar, as Asbell will demonstrate how the instrument itself changed and was changed by the music people made with it. Sponsored by the Department of Music and the Department of American Studies.

    This is a social event where students who want to practice speaking foreign languages in a social environment can come and do so. No foreign language is required to be present. Anyone is welcome.

    We will have this event at Fieldwork Brewery. The hosts of the event will grab a table and have signs posted for the event. We will also bring stickers to represent languages that each person speaks (these are optional). Snacks may be provided by the club, but all drinks must be purchased from the establishment.

  • Project-Based Learning Community of Practice Meetings

    The Project-Based Learning Community of Practice was launched this year for faculty and staff curious about or already implementing Project-Based Learning into courses at Middlebury. Meetings are twice a month to accommodate schedules, with varying agendas and topics that focus on sharing practice, problem-solving, identifying helpful resources, and contributing to and benefiting from a growing group of practitioners and body of knowledge here at the College. No RSVP required, come when you can. All faculty and staff welcome.

  • GIS and Data Analytics Applied to International Development

    Carmen Tedesco ‘02, Director Analytics at Fraym, will be on campus to speak with students about her career applying her geospatial expertise providing thought leadership on data systems issues in the international development space. She has international development sector experience in climate change/climate services, WASH, youth development, agriculture/food security, and infectious disease epidemiology and has worked in: Armenia, Bangladesh, Bermuda, Bhutan, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nepal, Thailand, Tunisia, Russia, Uruguay, and Vietnam.
