To honor the memory of Professor of Spanish Juana Gamero de Coca, the Annual Day of Learning on Global Cultures will present a variety of readings and a round table discussion.

“1948 Palestine and Beyond” will focus on Palestine under the British mandate. Panelists will include Laila Parsons, Associate Professor, Institute of Islamic Studies and Department of History and Classical Studies, McGill University; and Abdel Razzaq Takriti, Associate Professor and Arab-American Educational Foundation Chair in Modern Arab History, University of Houston; followed by a round table discussion.

Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs (RCGA) Program on Security and Global Affairs presents Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins, Founder and Executive Director of Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security and Conflict Transformation. She will be discussing “Will COVID-19 Kill the Liberal International Order.”

Ishmael Khaldi, author of “A Shepard’s Journey: the story of Israel’s first Bedouin diplomat” will present “Bedouins and Other Minorities in Israel.” A 45 minute lecture followed by Q&A.

Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs International and Global Colloquium presents “The Police Idea in Imperial Japan, 1900-1945,” by Max Ward, Associate Professor Japanese History, Middlebury College.

Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs Announces the International and Global Colloquium Presentation by Robert Greeley, Assistant Professor of Arabic, Middlebury College and Kendrick Fernandez ‘20, Graduate Student, University of Virginia. Robert Greeley and Kendrick Fernandez will give a talk based on their field work on food security and the wholesale market system in Lebanon.
