We will discuss the rise of bigotry on campuses and reflect on the impact of pseudo-scientific bigotry on the student experience, focusing on what students can do to curb the encroachment of alt-right and far-right ideologies.

Knight Hennessy Info Session

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program is a graduate-level scholarship aimed at preparing the next generation of global leaders to address the increasingly complex challenges facing the world. Knight-Hennessy Scholars will annually select up to 100 high-achieving students with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment, who will receive funding to pursue a graduate education at Stanford. Scholars may pursue studies at any of the university’s seven internationally top-ranked graduate schools, and will be educated to navigate across business, government, academia, and the nonprofit sectors.

BCE Consulting Information Session

Craig Belanger (Managing Partner), Joe Giandomenico (Manager, Middlebury 15.5’), and Henry Walsh (Analyst, Middlebury 2021) from BCE Consulting will be hosting an in-person information session on the firm and the Analyst position. We encourage those with an interest in management and strategy consulting, but also those that are new to the profession and are looking to learn more, to attend this session. Colonialism, Austerity Measures, and Resistance from University of Puerto Rico

In 2016, President Obama signed the law P.R.O.M.E.S.A., aggravating the socioeconomic and political situation of Puerto Rico. The University of Puerto Rico has always been a target of the neoliberal austerity policies of the US and Puerto Rico government. Activist Student, Ruth N. Figueroa-Couvertier, and Sociologist, César Pérez-Lizasuain, will reflect on those austerity measures and the impacts they have on the only public institution of higher education on the island.

You don’t have to write alone! The Writing Center at Middlebury College will join other colleges and universities from around the globe in sponsoring a Write-In during the last weeks of the fall semester. The Write-In fosters a writing community by setting aside time and space for students to write together. A Peer Writing Tutor and a Research Librarian will be on hand to provide support.
