Critical Update to Our /Office/ Websites
The following email was sent to all Drupal editors on 4/5/23.
Dear Drupal Editors,
I write to you today with important information regarding our /office/ websites.
/Office/ URL Change
In preparation for our new Middlebury.edu homepage launch later this semester, we are making an important update next Tuesday, April 11, to our /office/ websites currently located at middlebury.edu/office/.
What This Means for You
The URL used for our /office/ sites will be simplified, removing the /office/ from the URL.
For example:
middlebury.edu/office/information-technology-services
becomes
middlebury.edu/information-technology-services
What This Means for Site Visitors
This does not in any way affect people’s ability to access your site. It is merely a necessary technical step in our process to launch the new Institutional homepage.
Redirects
As part of this change, all pages will have redirects automatically set up. If you are an editor of an /office/ site, there is nothing that you will need to do.
However, while these redirects will allow your existing go/links to continue working (online as well as in printed materials), it’s good web hygiene for Drupal editors to update those go/links to reflect the new URL.
We Are Here to Help
In the unlikely event that you notice something not working with your site, please contact us immediately and we will address the issue.
Regards,
Aaron Smith
Director, Enterprise Web Services
