Kathy (Kas) Singh has served as an International Student and Scholar Advisor in International Student & Scholar Services at Middlebury College since January 2015. In her current role, Kas supports faculty, staff, and scholars with regard to visa and immigration processes to allow them to work and pursue their research in our many programs. Working with colleagues across the institution, Kas also provides guidance about visa processing and assistance to colleagues hiring international employees or selecting international scholars at Middlebury College, The Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), The Middlebury Language Schools, and The Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English. Working closely with the Dean of Faculty Office and Student Life colleagues, Kas advises and supports our Assistants in Instruction/Teaching Assistants for the College’s language houses.
Prior to moving to Middlebury, Kas was an International Student and Scholar Specialist with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for more than 10 years, and an International Student and Scholar Adviser with the State University of New York (SUNY)-Stony Brook for two years. She served in the Peace Corps as an instructor of English for Specific Purposes for three years in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Kas has traveled to several countries including Estonia, Latvia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, United Kingdom, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. She earned a B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in international studies. She attended the SIT Graduate Institute (formerly the School for International Training) from 1999-2000 in the Masters in International/Intercultural Management program, focusing on international education. After years in other locations, Kas is enjoying her return to Vermont and giving her family a chance to experience life in the beautiful Green Mountain State.
