Update on National Events
ISSS is writing to provide an update as we continue to monitor national events and potential actions affecting current and admitted international students, recent graduates of Middlebury, and our international scholars.
Please note that no regulations have changed as of this writing, and we continue to watch closely for any new developments. We are aware that the U.S. Presidential administration has made several announcements in recent days about its intention to pause visa interviews for international students and to put in place specific policies, practices, or reviews for Chinese students. We also are aware of legal actions that may prevent or delay these governmental efforts.
As a global institution, Middlebury recognizes and celebrates the tremendous contributions our international students and scholars make on our campuses and in the world. We look forward to welcoming our international students and scholars–faculty, staff, and researchers–to our campuses for summer programs and the fall semester and we will work with any affected international community members to address individual circumstances.
While we await clarity from the government or other channels, we will continue to communicate with you as we receive and review new information. We will post this and any other immigration-related timely updates on the International Student and Scholar Services website and on our Approach to National Events site. Our priority is to assist those most directly affected.
