When you first enter the Davis Family Library or the Armstrong Science Library in McCardell Bicentennial Hall, questions about our resources, services, and spaces may start to bubble up in your mind. Librarians are here to help. We’ll start now by answering a few questions you’ll probably have this semester:

Where can I find electronic journals?

You can find nearly all of our journal articles, newspaper articles and books in an online tool called LibrarySearch. LibrarySearch is on the Middlebury Libraries home page under Search > All.

Where can I find data and statistics?

You can find data and statistics in a number of different places. To figure out where to look, you’ll need to consider what’s likely to be available, and what exactly that you need.

• Our Data & Statistics guide directs you to the best databases, search tools, and resources for statistics and other datasets. Use the Schedule Appointment button to talk with a librarian who can help you find exactly what you need.

How do I cite a source?

Usually, you’ll need to cite sources both within your paper and at the end of your paper. You should always cite according to the style (e.g., MLA, Chicago, APA) that’s either recommended by your instructor or common to your field.
