Levi Parsons

Son of Justin and Electa (Frary) Parsons. Levi Parsons (1792-1822) was born in Goshen, Massachusetts, on July 18, 1792. He entered Middlebury College in 1807, graduating in 1814. He attended the Andover Theological Seminary, graduating in 1817, and was ordained the same year. The Prudential Committee of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM), appointed Parsons to the first Palestine Mission and in November, 1819, Parsons sailed for Palestine with his Middlebury classmate Pliny Fisk. He served the mission in Egypt until his untimely death in Alexandria, Egypt, on February 10, 1822.
