Rebekah Irwin

Rebekah Irwin is the Dean of the Library. She first joined Middlebury in 2011 as Head of Collections and Digital Initiatives, then served as Director and Curator, Special Collections & Archives from 2014-2026. Over her twenty-year career, Rebekah has been an ardent advocate for libraries as places dedicated to the preservation and propagation of everything that matters, always seeking common ground between the history of the book and its reimagined future. Prior to moving to Vermont, Rebekah spent nearly a decade at Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
