Dan joined the Middlebury Advancement team in July of 2022. As Vice President for Advancement, he is responsible for managing and motivating the team that oversees all aspects of Middlebury’s external relations, fundraising and campaign-related outreach work to alumni, parents, and friends of the College.

From 2004 to 2022, he served as Chief Development Officer at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. Prior to this, he was Associate Director of Development at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire and Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut. Dan is no stranger to Vermont; he began his career in advancement at the University of Vermont as a major gifts officer and development liaison to student life and university athletics. He spent his first years after college with Teach for America and worked for Securities Industry Daily in New York before moving into educational advancement.

A proud Choate-Bowdoin-Wesleyan alum, he lives in Barnard, Vermont, with his spouse and high-school-aged son. Dan and his wife are also parents of two recent college graduates: one from UVM and the other from College of the Holy Cross.
